Teachers in the Santa Cruz / Bay Area are a crucial part of our society. They help shape, educate and encourage people to reach their potential, but unfortunately most are not paid accordingly or even enough to afford housing in the area they teach.
Most cities have dedicated programs in the planning department for low income housing but now Oakland has taken the first step in providing "Teacher only Affordable Housing". This has the potential to be a game changer for teacher industry. Lets hope this becomes a reality in other cities as well.
